Position Summary :

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a General Medicine unit with a focus on MedSurg Psych at our esteemed partner medical facility in Everett, WA . This full-time role offers the opportunity to work various shifts (Day / Night) and FTEs, providing specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients who have acute medical illnesses complicated by psychiatric or behavioral health conditions. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of acute care nursing experience, a strong interest in or experience with mental health, and a commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and collaborative, holistic care.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including both physical and mental status examinations, for patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions.

Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic care, partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of patients, particularly those with dual diagnoses.

Foster a supportive learning environment for patients and their families, providing education on medical conditions, mental health management, coping strategies, medications, and discharge planning.

Maintain accountability for patient safety, including implementing measures to address behavioral risks, fall prevention, and medical complications.

Engage in ongoing professional development and practice to the full scope of licensure within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and specialty nursing standards (e.g., medical-surgical, psychiatric-mental health nursing).
