American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) position in a critical access acute care setting with rotation between day and night shifts and coverage of both L&D and MedSurg / Peds units.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an LDRP unit within a critical access hospitalPatient population includes labor & delivery, postpartum, hyperbilirubinemia, preterm labor, and triageUnit includes 4 L&D beds, 6 postpartum beds, and 1 triage bedRequires working 12-hour rotating day and night shifts (7a-7 : 30p and 7p-7 : 30a), with shifts rotating every 3 weeksEvery third weekend and every third holiday requiredCall required with a 1-hour response timeFloating to MedSurg / Peds unit when OB census is lowEpic EMR used in the unitPhilips telemetry monitors are used; RNs are responsible for monitoring and reading stripsRNs provide care for OB and postpartum patients and must be able to float to MedSurg / Peds as neededCharge nurse available each shift; may take patient assignment if necessaryOn-call anesthesiologist and OB / Neonatologist supportRNs are responsible for monitoring and reading their own telemetry strips; additional support from ICU and charge nurses availableNo dress code; any color scrubs permittedOne 12-hour unit-specific orientation shift providedAll RTO must be submitted up front; additional RTO after submission will not be approvedFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active MN RN license required at time of submission; compact not acceptedCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications requiredAt least 1 year of recent L&D experience requiredExperience in both MedSurg / Peds and L&D requiredAbility to titrate drips including OB (Pitocin), ICU cardiac drips, heparin, and sedation drugsCandidates must live at least 50 miles from the facilityCannot have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health within the past year\n Benefits\n
