Job Responsibilities and Requirements : Job Description PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Under moderate supervision, performs duties within well established guidelines and practical knowledge gained from experience. Acts as a resource for similar departments when peers need in depth education and instruction. + Supports clinical staff and management team with department business and patient / resident care. Greets visitors, answers / screens / routes telephone calls, files, distributes mail and performs other general clerical duties. + May provide assistance with programs / software for staff or management team. May assemble and maintain patient / resident charts, and / or electronic health records. + Responsible for making copies, answering phones, making appointments, and maintaining records. Problem solves as needed to resolve patient / resident record issues, and considers upstream or downstream impact, works with other departments as needed. + May be responsible for maintaining office inventory including ordering supplies. Ensures that office equipment is in good working order and requests repairs or maintenance as needed. + Communicates with patients / residents, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol. + Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION + Highschool diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE + Two years' experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Frequent lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot / leg and hand / arm movements. + Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Frequent keyboard use / data entry. + Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. + Occasional lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Rare climbing.
