Description :
This is a winter contract that must continue into January, with the earliest end date being January 10.
The assignment is for 18 weeks.
Travelers may request one of the three major holidays off.
L&D RN positions are available for either 36 or 48 hours weekly.
Every other weekend is required.
Self-scheduling is available.
A minimum of one year of experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
The patient ratio is 1 : 3.
License and certifications required include : RN, BLS, STABLE, and NRP.
Every other weekend is required.
Holidays are required as they fall, as scheduled.
Floating within the specialty is required.
On-call is not required.
Travelers are expected to assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, circulate for C-sections, and manage epidural anesthesia.
Facility births per month range from 100 to 200.
Skills in administration of blood and blood products, hemorrhage / shock management, insulin drips, and isolation precautions are necessary.
Travelers will be required to manage magnesium sulfate therapy and maintain central lines (CVC / PICC).
Pain assessment and management skills are essential.
Experience with use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring), infusion pumps, and PCA (IV) is expected.
Self-scheduling is the staffing method.
Nights will have a patient ratio of 2.
Candidates must be comfortable floating within the hospital.
References from previous employers, including a supervisor and a charge RN, are required.
Applicable travel experience is necessary.
Travelers must not reside within 50 miles of the facility.
Return travelers need to have been away from the system for at least 6 months before reapplying.
Previous staff must be gone for 12 months before returning as a traveler.
One contract and one extension may be allowed, followed by a 6-month break before returning to the facility / unit.
Modules are non-billable and factored into the overall contract.
