Job Description
General Functions
This is professional and administrative position that supports Information Services / CJIS Compliance. This position ensures the Corrections Department adheres to the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. The job responsibilities require good communication, problem-solving, time management, attention to detail, data integrity, and good judgment. Assigned duties require criminal justice system and software proficiency, confidentiality, strong ethical judgement and effective oral and written communication skills.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a supervisor or designee. Performance is evaluated on accuracy, efficiency and achievement of desired results.
Information Services / CJIS Compliance
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Professional work experience in counseling, criminal justice or social services may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a year for year basis.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License by date of hire.
Must obtain and maintain FCIC / NCIC certification within three months of employment.
Preferences
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Criminal Justice, Corrections, Psychology, Social Sciences or a closely related field.

Educational Requirements

Qualified applicants will be required to participate and pass an assessment for the Community Corrections Officer position as determined by the Corrections Department. The test dates are scheduled for December 22, 2025. This is a tentative date and may be subject to change.

Body Ornamentation (Tattoos and Branding)
Any tattoos and brands located above the collarbone are prohibited. The use of cosmetics, clothing, or any other method to conceal such markings is not permitted.
Employees are required to conceal any tattoos that are considered obscene or offensive. Examples of prohibited tattoos include, but are not limited to, the following :
Dental Ornamentation :
Employees will not use gold, silver, or other caps or veneers for the purpose of dental ornamentation unless deemed medically necessary and prescribed by a licensed dentist. Teeth, whether natural, capped, or veneer, will not be ornamented with designs, jewels or initials.
Employees will be prohibited from unnatural shaping teeth for non-medical reasons (e.g. fangs) or wearing removable dental ornamentation (e.g. grills).
Gauging :
Employees are not permitted to wear any type of gauge while on duty or while performing official Department business. Visible openings, for example the earlobe caused by stretching / wearing a gauge must be completely concealed at all times.
