If you are a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technologist, David Aplin Group has the right opportunity for you! Our Winnipeg-based client has partnered with Leanne Bonnar, Partner, to lead their next search. Our client, a leading manufacturer of equipment, is in search of a Mechanical Technologist to work in the business and support clients both on and offsite. This position is based in the headquarters in Winnipeg, where they manufacture the equipment and distribute it worldwide. Apply if you are interested in being part of a growing and evolving company.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, issue, maintain drawings and BOMs for products in manufacturing, material specifications and order customization
  • Verify that design drawings conform to specifications and design data
  • Support to production and purchasing for material specifications, interface with vendors for engineered product and custom modifications
  • Prepare and maintain manuals and product documentation
  • Track project sheet compilation for custom projects
  • Continuous machine improvements and innovations
  • Technical support for Customer issues, remote and on site
  • Travel to customer sites to supervise system installation, maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Educate customers with respect to maintenance and operating procedures
  • Complete service visit reports for each visit
  • Perform tests on machinery onsite and use the results for machine improvements in design
Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education in mechanical engineering or similar from a recognized educational institute
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with clients when required
  • Training and related experience in 2D and 3D modeling
  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and skills
  • 1+ years Manufacturing experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of MS office; experience with ERP systems an asset
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under changing priorities
  • Willing to travel within Canada, the United States and Internationally – approximately 25%
