FG Construction, LLC has an exceptional opportunity and vital role for a Surveyor to establish themselves with a rapidly growing construction company. FG Construction is a commercial concrete repair and asphalt paving contractor looking for a self-driven talented person who demonstrates a commitment to excellence in work and who possesses the character needed for teamwork in a fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct construction layout surveys for construction / roadway projects. Perform staking and layout for road alignments, grading, drainage systems, curbs, and utilities. Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and engineering drawings to guide fieldwork. Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, levels, and data collectors. Maintain detailed field notes and electronic data files in accordance with project standards. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and inspectors to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Verify existing site conditions and provide feedback to project managers on potential conflicts or design issues. Monitor and report project progress to ensure survey work aligns with construction timelines. Perform all other relevant duties as assigned by management. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities who is motivated to set and achieve goals and takes initiative within the workplace. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, but a positive attitude is a must! Specific requirements include : Associate or bachelor's degree in construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum 1+ years of experience in construction surveying, preferably on roadway or infrastructure projects. Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Proficiency in using modern surveying instruments GPS, total stations, data collectors, and related software. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software is a plus. Knowledge of DOT standards and roadway construction practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
