Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer who will be responsible for assisting Laborers and Laborer Journeymen with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment
  • Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by other crafts
  • Clean work area, machines, and equipment
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5x7x16) and staging
  • Level ground for scaffolding
  • Tend motor and grout : lift, unload, move, set, and shovel between wheelbarrows and buckets
  • General cleanup and debris removal, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning debris
  • Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
  • Vibrate concrete
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction preferred
  • Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
  • Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; attention to detail; active listening and effective communication skills, including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling : up to 50 lbs.
  • Note : duties may change without notice. Lifting over 50 lbs requires assistance or equipment.
