Position Title : Maintenance Technician

Department : Maintenance

General Purpose : Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, responsible for ensuring all departments, member areas, staff areas, operating equipment, and equipment rooms are clean, well maintained, in orderly condition, and operating optimally at all times. Performs heavy cleaning duties, preventive maintenance of operating equipment, and light to moderate repair of operating equipment. Contributes to a respectful, positive, and supportive working environment across departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Approach all interaction with colleagues, Members, and guests in a courteous, service-oriented manner; attentive, friendly, helpful, and respectful to Members, guests, vendors and colleagues.
• Report to work and clock in / out for scheduled shifts and meal and rest periods on time in complete and proper uniform.
• Maintain personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
• Subscribe to the principle of continual improvement in all facets of the operation.
• Inspect equipment, structures, materials and determine the need for maintenance or repairs.
• Assist with plumbing or electrical issues as needed.
• Sand, stain, and / or paint furniture, walls or other surfaces.
• Gather and empty trash from all trash bins, including administrative offices.
• Clean building floors : sweep, mop, scrub, and / or vacuum.
• Repair and maintain building floors : strip, seal, finish, and polish.
• Clean, maintain, set up, and break down pools and pool areas.
• Set up and break down beach chair area.
• Clean and maintain cabanas and ensure continual operation.
• Maintain clean walls and baseboards inside and outside.
• Clean and maintain all light fixtures inside and outside.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Repair kitchen appliances as able.
• Repair defected tile throughout club including kitchen.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are avoided.
• Notify managers concerning maintenance activity that may affect their department, create access issues, or raise questions by Members or guests.
• Notify Chief Engineer of supplies and / or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare for special events.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Perform general cleaning including but not limited to wiping down walls and ceilings, vacuuming carpets and rugs, cleaning restrooms, dusting furniture and fixtures, etc.
• Fills-in for gaps in Houseman coverage on an as-needed basis.
• Monitors equipment and supplies to par levels and communicates supply, maintenance, safety and storage needs to the Chief Engineer promptly.
• Performs other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer.
• Maintain clean and organized storage rooms and maintenance spaces.
• Attend all trainings and meetings as required / requested.
• Follow all established Club and departmental policies, procedures, standards, systems, controls and objectives.
• Help promote a safe work environment in all operational areas and endeavors.
