Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring a KS or compact license and strong dysrhythmia management skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Med / Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
  • Average daily census is 5 with 12 beds
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 7 : 30
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
  • May float within scope to other departments, including the Emergency Department and associated facilities
  • Patient care includes med / surg and telemetry monitoring
  • Responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and urgent response procedures
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • No travel partners accepted for this assignment
  • Must be willing to float as needed, or assignment may be canceled
  • Candidate’s home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Maximum of 7 days requested time off during contract
  • Completion of 10-15 hours of compliance modules required prior to start

  • Active KS or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience in Med / Surg Tele, including at least 1 full year in the past 12 months with no employment gap over 90 days
  • BLS certification required
  • Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response / code team use, peripheral line care, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
  • No pending license accepted
  • Two professional references required (one supervisor level or above, one may be charge RN) from the past year
  • Compliance with drug screening and lab requirements
