Food Runner

The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk is currently seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join our team as Food Runners. This position will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery offload from the kitchen to the dining room and bar area, providing unparalleled customer service to our guests, and ensuring they have a magical experience. The Food Runner works closely with the Chef Team and the Hospitality Team to coordinate and act as a liaison for any guest facing needs that may arise.

Core Objectives of the Role (this list is not all inclusive) :

• Picks up food products for orders placed by the service staff and delivers the meal to our guests.
• Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize our guests dining experience.
• Sets up the front line with the equipment, plateware, and smallwares needed to effectively serve all food products.
• Keeps the station restocked throughout the shift.
• Cleans periodically to be ready for service at all times.
• Reads order tickets as they arrive and place them onto the ticket minder (in the absence of the chef team).
• Tracks cooking times on all orders, checks finished product for proper degree of doneness, appearance, and plate presentation (in the absence of the chef team).
• Garnishes finished entrees according to house specifications and procedures (in the absence of the chef team).
• Assists the servers as needed to optimize the guest’s dining experience.
• Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.
• Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and / or injuries to the chef or other manager on duty.
• Correctly completes closing duties at the end of each shift.
• Assists Chef and other kitchen personnel in accomplishing closing duties and kitchen cleanliness.
• Completes all side work in the front and / or back of the house as assigned and scheduled by the members of the management team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support the overall success of the team and organization.

Requirements :

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not required

Effective communication and customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Reliable and punctual

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
