Nursing Faculty & Clinical Coordinator Fontbonne University’s Department of Nursing invites applications for a full-time faculty member. We are seeking an educator committed to designing an innovative classroom culture that embraces diversity and fosters student success. The nursing faculty member will create a sense of belonging that motivates students and strengthens their desire to learn. This position will be a combination of classroom instruction and clinical coordination. Courses taught will vary based on faculty expertise and departmental needs, but expertise is needed in the areas of psychiatric nursing, community health, or medical surgical nursing. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Academic :
- Fulfills assigned teaching responsibilities.
- Incorporates sound pedagogy and andragogy into teaching activities.
- Uses technology to enhance and optimize student learning outcomes.
- Utilizes best evidence for developing teaching / learning activities.
- Contributes to the development and enhancement of the curricula.
- Advises students through feedback, coaching, remediation, and engagement.
- Maintenance of scholarly activities, such as participation in professional associations and continued professional development.
- Engages in activities external to the University in support of the profession of nursing and the community.
- Provides service to the college, community, and profession.
- Participates in course, program, and faculty related activities as required for all full-time faculty. Clinical Coordination :
- Acts as a liaison between faculty and clinical agency staff for administrative and operational needs.
- Coordinates and maintains program documents required by clinical partners including CPR verification, health clearances, background checks, drug screens, and required agency specific forms.
- Determines clinical placement and schedules for nursing students each semester in coordination with Director of Nursing and nursing faculty.
- Requests and maintains electronic medical charting access codes for clinical agency charting / documentation.
- Coordinates and provides student clinical orientation to ensure student knowledge of clinical education mandatories and system documentation requirements.
- Organizes and provides orientation each semester for new clinical instructors.
- Prepares files for annual reporting, national accreditation compliance and Missouri State Board of Nursing approval as needed. General Requirements

- Adheres to competency, health, certification, licensure, and other requirements.
- Commitment to working with diverse learners and communities, including first-generation students and students from underrepresented groups. Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing
- At least 2 years of experience as a registered nurse
- Current, active licensure to practice professional nursing in Missouri; the candidate’s license to practice professional nursing has never been disciplined in any jurisdiction.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Requirements
- Experience teaching in a pre-licensure nursing program
- Clinical coordination experience
