Job description

Position Title : Concrete Rebar Installer

Location : Guam

Employment Type : Contract / Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Rebar Installer is responsible for positioning, securing, and reinforcing steel bars or mesh in concrete forms to strengthen structures such as foundations, slabs, columns, and walls. This role requires a strong understanding of construction drawings, precise measuring and cutting skills, and strict adherence to safety standards on all job sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the correct placement, size, and quantity of rebar.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and tie rebar using hand and power tools according to project requirements.
  • Place and secure rebar in formwork, ensuring proper alignment, spacing, and coverage using chairs, spacers, and blocks.
  • Assist with the installation, adjustment, and dismantling of formwork prior to and after concrete placement.
  • Set and align embeds, anchor bolts, and other hardware into concrete as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols, wearing appropriate PPE, and reporting hazards immediately.
  • Collaborate with concrete crews to ensure accurate placement before pouring operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Rebar Installer, Ironworker, or in a related construction trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds regularly and performing physically demanding tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
  • Must be safety-conscious and committed to following OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written).
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with epoxy-coated and post-tensioned rebar systems.
  • Familiarity with rebar tying guns and bending equipment.
  • Certification in basic rigging or fall protection (a plus).
