Job Summary

Accounting Financial Manager - Local to WA DC.

• Assist in developing and executing the District’s overall financial plans.
• Manage the accounting close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and District policies.
• Support annual financial audits and other audits by preparing necessary schedules and reconciliations.
• Develop, update, and improve accounting policies and procedures; evaluate internal controls and ensure compliance.
• Identify risk areas within accounting processes and recommend improvements.
• Maintain expert knowledge of Cash and Accounts Receivable accounting.
• Apply working knowledge in Grants, Bonds, Retirement Plans, and Unclaimed Property accounting.
• Utilize strong project management, analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and effective written / verbal communication.
• Leverage advanced MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accounting / general ledger systems proficiency.
• Requires Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years’ relevant financial and accounting experience.
