Description
BMA is seeking a Engineering Technician to join our team. This position is located in Williamsburg, VA and is contingent on contract award.
Job Summary
- Support NAVELSG's engineering, configuration-control, and lifecycle management processes by preparing CAD drawings, redlines, and technical data packages (TDPs) documenting modifications to containers, shelters, facilities, and TOA assemblies.
- Conduct site surveys to validate as-built conditions, ensure engineering changes are accurately reflected in configuration data, and maintain revision control in compliance with MIL-STD-973 and NAVELSG Configuration Data Management (CDM) procedures.
- Perform general facility maintenance to ensure continuous functionality of HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, environmental-control units, and workspace infrastructure.
- Manage maintenance work orders, coordinate repairs with base and military maintainers, record actions in OMMS-NG, and assist in facility layout improvements.
- Ensure technical consistency, safe facilities, and lifecycle traceability across NAVELSG's TOA enterprise.
- Support design reviews, material takeoffs, bill-of-materials development, and technical data package (TDP) updates.
- Conduct site surveys to validate measurements, as-built conditions, and material compatibility.
- Compile engineering documentation and redline drawings in compliance with MIL-STD-973 and NAVELSG CDM requirements.
- Maintain engineering records, revision histories, and configuration baselines within MBPS, DPAS-WM, and associated systems.
- Perform general repairs to HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and environmental-control units.
- Manage facility maintenance work orders and coordinate repairs with base Public Works Departments.
- Document all maintenance actions in OMMS-NG and internal maintenance logs.
- Maintain shop tools, perform energy-system checks, and ensure compliance with OSHA and NAVFAC P-300.
- Assist with facility layout improvements, workspace optimization, and material-flow enhancements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Navy safety standards and environmental regulations.
Clearance Requirements
There is a Secret security clearance requirement for this position at the time of proposal submission.
Required Skills & Certifications
U.S. Citizen and an active SECRET Clearance required.High School Diploma required.Minimum 3+ years of engineering, drafting, design support, or facility maintenance experience.Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD / drafting software.Familiarity with NAVFAC standards, MIL-STD-3037, and ISO container design / modification requirements.Ability to read, interpret, and update technical drawings, schematics, and engineering change documentation.Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform general facility maintenance tasks and repairs.Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and problem-solving skills.Desired Skills & Certifications
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Architecture, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline.Experience supporting NAVELSG, NECC, or Navy expeditionary engineering / logistics missions.Experience with MBPS, DPAS configuration records, or other DoD engineering / logistics data systems.HVAC, electrical, or facility maintenance certifications.OSHA 10 / 30, facility safety training, or NAVFAC engineering-related coursework.Benefits
