Med Surg Overview :

Mercy Fort Smith’s Med Surg Service Line is made up of 7 specialty units that will provide experience with patient populations with a varying range of diagnoses and care needs.  Functionally, these units house and care for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions.  While you will have a “home unit”, we cross-train our nurses between the various specialties to provide a strong foundational knowledge of all types of patient conditions, comorbidities, procedures, etc.  Whether you are a new grad nurse looking to build a strong base before launching into your future career / educational plans or an experienced nurse who enjoys variety in their every day work, Med Surg is the place for you!
