Job Description Safety Officer – Manufacturing / Industrial Environment
Location : Itasca, IL
Reports To : VP of Operations, HR & Safety
Compensation : $70k+ (based on experience)
Role Overview : We're looking for a proactive Safety Officer to lead safety initiatives, ensure compliance, and promote a strong safety culture. This role is essential to protecting our people, improving operations, and supporting company success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and programs
- Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and equipment inspections
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses
- Lead and manage the Safety Committee
- Deliver engaging safety training sessions
- Maintain accurate safety records and compliance documentation
- Stay current with OSHA, EPA, ANSI regulations
- Collaborate across departments and with outside agencies
