Bear Lake Manor Activity Director

Overview

Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare is seeking a hard-working, dependable individual that can provide compassionate and caring service and activities to the residents of the Bear Lake Manor. The Activity Director develops, organizes, and coordinates facility and community resources to provide the highest quality of ongoing activity programs. Programs are designed to meet the assessed interests and needs to promote the well being of each resident.

Responsibilities

• Assess each resident’s interests and needs.
• Develop and implement group activities that address the needs of the residents.
• Develop and implement an individual activity plan for each resident, which reflects the interests and needs of the residents.
• Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the activity plans and adjust accordingly.
• Provide active and continuing encouragement of residents to participate in individual or group activities.
• Work with a variety of people and groups such as volunteers to achieve an effective program.
• Plan and schedule activities in advance and inform residents of scheduling plans.
• Maintain appropriate records of resident’s individual participation and progress.
• Forecast needs of department and stay within allotted budget guidelines for activity department.
• Responsible for decorating for each season or holiday, bulletin boards, birthday announcements, etc.
• Attend and participate in monthly in-services and other meetings required by facility.
• Assist the nursing staff with transfers, answering call lights, feeding, toileting residents, and other tasks as needed.
• Assist residents as needed with activities of daily living.
