Merola Tile is a leading national tile distributor that proudly imports high quality, on-trend and emotionally inspiring tiles from around the world to suit a diverse flooring market.
The NJ Division of Merola Tile employs approximately 100 people and distributes tile in the U.S. and Canada through The Home Depot, independently owned tile showrooms, and numerous e-commerce retailers under the Merola Tile, SomerTile, and Elite Tile brand names. Role Responsibilities
Recruiting
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand position needs and create engaging job postings
- Post roles on internal and external platforms; track candidate flow and pipeline
- Schedule and coordinate interviews, collect feedback, and ensure timely communication with candidates
- Maintain and update the applicant tracking
- Recommend and help implement process improvements to streamline recruitment strategies to attract diverse, high-quality candidates
Onboarding & Offboarding
Coordinate and execute onboarding for all new hires, including orientation schedules, welcome materials, and 90 day mile stonesCoordinate employee benefit enrollment and serve as a point of contact for benefit-related questions.Serve as a point of contact for new hires, helping them integrate into the company cultureSupport the offboarding process, including exit interviews, system deactivation, and final paperworkMaintain personnel files and ensure compliance with documentation requirementsHR Administrative Support
Assist with maintaining accurate HR records and update internal databases with employee information, contact details, and employment formsSupport HR team with reporting, compliance tracking, and auditsHelp coordinate employee communications, events, and engagement activities such as Lunch & LearnsRespond to general employee inquiries and escalate issues as neededDemonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issuesSupport various HR projects assigned, such as policy updates, trainings, or performance cyclesProvide administrative support including survey tracking, report preparation, filing, and other clerical tasks.Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.Perform additional HR and recruitment duties as assigned to support departmental goals.Qualifications and Education Requirements
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.1-3 years of HR experience requiredBasic HR knowledge requiredStrong communication and professionalismProficient in Microsoft SuitesPreferred Skills
