Role Summary :

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating CNC and other shop equipment to produce high-quality parts according to established specifications. This role focuses on running pre-programmed machines, performing basic setups and measurements, and ensuring accurate documentation of production activities. The CNC Machine Operator works closely with team members to maintain smooth workflow, follow safety and 6S standards, and support overall manufacturing quality and efficiency.

Accountable for :

  • Operating CNC machines in the shop to make parts according to instructions and programs provided.
  • Work well with others and follow good manufacturing practices to ensure product quality and safety.
  • Completing basic paperwork and documentation for shop processes.
  • Accurately record time spent on each job and enter information into the computer.
  • Loading, running, and saving CNC programs from the network as needed.
  • Setting up and running jobs using standard shop equipment such as drills, mills, saws, and lathes under supervision or with guidance.
  • Making simple adjustments or minor edits to programs when necessary.
  • Inspecting finished parts for quality and accuracy and make basic corrections when required.
  • Cleaning and maintaining machines, tools, and the work area following 6S standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Desired Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience operating CNC equipment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of shop math, measurement tools, and reading blueprints.
  • Shop course completion or technical degree such as machinist, mold maker, or tool / die maker.
  • Technical or vocational training in machining is a plus, but relevant on-the-job experience is also acceptable.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
