Job Posting Summary

Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center (BMDACC) is actively seeking a Medical Physicist to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team in Jacksonville, Florida. We are looking for individuals with a specialized focus in radiation oncology , including HDR brachytherapy , to enhance our program and contribute to the highest quality of patient care. This is a Full-Time, Day Shift opportunity within a collaborative environment dedicated to innovation and excellence in cancer treatment.

BMDACC is a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center, offering a comprehensive range of radiation therapy services utilizing cutting-edge technology. Our treatment delivery systems include :

  • Linear Accelerators : TrueBeams, Edge with BrainLab ExacTrac Dynamic
  • Brachytherapy : GammaMed HDR for intracavitary and interstitial treatments
  • Advanced Radiation Therapy Techniques : VMAT, IGRT, SRS / SBRT, TBI, AVM, HDR, and LDR
  • Supporting Technologies : VisionRT, Velocity
  • Physics QA Systems & Tools : SunNuclear, AtlasQA / Routine, SRS MapCheck, IC Profiler, RadCalc, and IBA 3D water tank

The Medical Physicist, Radiation Therapy responsibilities include :

  • Working in conjunction with the physics team to assist in the operation of physics and dosimetry within Radiation Oncology.
  • Developing and implementing HDR brachytherapy treatment plans, including intracavitary and interstitial procedures.
  • Collaborating with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
  • Conducting treatment plans with Eclipse, Elements, and Radformation for external beam and brachytherapy cases.
  • Utilizing the Aria system for record and verify functions.
  • Establishing and maintaining QA for physics and dosimetry.
  • Staying current with the latest advancements in radiation oncology, physics QA methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience, board certification, and Master of Science preferred.
  • Physicist must possess excellent communication and writing skills.
