Job Title : Senior Data Scientist

Location : Herndon, VA (Onsite / Hybrid)

Employment Type : Full-Time

About the Role

  • We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with strong expertise in Battery Management Systems (BMS) algorithms , Python-based data visualization , and supervisory experience .
  • The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and implementation of data-driven solutions that enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability of battery systems.
  • This role involves both hands-on technical work and team leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and optimize Battery Management System (BMS) algorithms for state estimation, fault detection, and predictive maintenance.
  • Lead a small team of data scientists and analysts, providing mentorship, direction, and technical guidance.
  • Design and implement data models , machine learning algorithms , and statistical analysis frameworks to support product and engineering decisions.
  • Use Python for data analysis, modeling, and visualization (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Dash, or similar libraries).
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, scalability, and model performance across diverse datasets.
  • Communicate insights and technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field .
  • Experience in data science, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role .
  • Hands-on experience developing and validating BMS algorithms (SOC, SOH, SOP estimation, thermal modeling, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Python and related data visualization tools .
  • Strong background in machine learning , statistics , and data-driven system modeling .
  • Experience with time-series data , sensor data analysis , and predictive analytics .
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working with automotive , EV , or energy storage systems .
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time data acquisition .
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
