Job Description :

• Administer nursing care within the scope of practice as set forth under the direction of registered nurse or licensed physician.
• Administer oxygen, apply sterile dressing, insert catheters, reinserts gastrostomy tubes, and irrigate wounds.
• Collect specimens, perform dialysis treatments, and monitor patients during procedures.
• Assist physicians with physical exams, treatments, and laboratory tests.
• Provide emergency assistance by administering first-aid or performing CPR.
• Administer controlled and non-controlled medications in oral, rectal, topical, or injectable forms, and provide medication instructions to patients.
• Maintain medication accountability records and observe, document, and report patient conditions.
• Prepare reports and records such as patient records, medication reports, and unusual incident reports.
• Provide general nursing, direct care, and assist with programming for patient daily living activities.
• Offer work direction, orientation, and training to lower-level direct care staff.
• Attend meetings such as staff conferences, in-service training programs, and nursing meetings.
• Order medication and medical supplies, clean nurse station, and perform clerical tasks.
• Skilled in the use of medical equipment and the operation of personal computers.
• Ability to develop good rapport with patients and understand practical nursing instructions.
