Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience and ARRT (R) certification to join an acute care trauma level 3 setting.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital setting within the Interventional Radiology departmentDepartment features 3 procedure rooms : 2 biplane and 1 single plane, with access to a hybrid OR and CT / IR scannerCaseload averages 10-20 cases per day, plus 1-4 stroke cases per week, serving neuro IR, vascular, and neuro surgery patientsCerner EMR is used along with GE Centricity RIS and Philips Intellispace PACSShifts consist of four 10-hour days, with start times at 7 : 00 AM or 7 : 30 AM, and end times at 5 : 30 PM or 6 : 00 PMCall required : 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend per month, with a 30-minute response timeStaff may float to the hybrid OR; experience in this area is preferred but not requiredScrubs are provided by the facilityRegular duties include performing all IR procedures for neuro and vascular cases, scrubbing in, and circulatingNo IV starts required; IR RNs perform this taskIR techs are part of an interdisciplinary team with nurses and a lead IR tech, supported by in-house radiologists during the day and on-call radiologists at nightHoliday shifts are expected if the holiday falls on a scheduled shift or call dayFirst day consists of orientation modules in education, safety, and infection control, with a preceptor assigned for the first weekTravelers are integrated into the on-call rotation and may select or swap call daysTwo IR techs are assigned per roomRequirements
Active ARRT (R) certification requiredBLS certification requiredWashington state radiologic technologist license required; license required if applicableAt least 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology is requiredExperience at a stroke receiving facility and prior travel experience are preferredMust provide a radiation badgeAbility to scrub in and circulate for all IR proceduresExperience with Cerner EMR preferredDriver’s license must be provided for considerationIV certification preferredMust submit two professional references : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 yearsBenefits
