Position Summary :

The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for managing patient account balances through professional communication, timely follow-up, and effective collections practices. This role serves as contact for patients regarding billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and insurance resolution, ensuring a positive patient experience consistent with Orthopedic Institute’s standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

• Handle incoming and outgoing patient calls regarding billing statements, balances, and payment options.
• Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness, verifying insurance payments and adjustments.
• Establish and maintain patient payment arrangements in accordance with company policies.
• Follow up on overdue accounts through phone calls and correspondence to secure timely payments.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or claim denials in coordination with other business office team members.
• Maintain detailed documentation of account activity in the practice management system.
• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all interactions reflect empathy and professionalism.
• Support business office goals related to aging accounts, collections, and overall revenue cycle performance.
