Medical Assistant
Bay Area Endoscopy Center, located in Castro Valley, CA, is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to join our patient focused team. The Medical Assistant will greet and room patients, measure vital signs, provide educational materials to patients and families, enter data into patient charts, and ensure exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
Please note that the starting range for this position is between $22 to $26 per hour.
Under the supervision of the RN, supports patient care by :
Accesses and accurately records patient health information in the Center's electronic health record (EHR), ensuring data integrity per ASC protocols
Assists patients with care and mobility needs throughout the ASC, supporting transitions between pre-op, operating, and post-op areas
Participates in emergency and resuscitative efforts as necessary, under the direction of the attending physician, anesthesia provider, and / or Center Manager
Monitors and records vital signs, promptly reporting any abnormalities to the RN to ensure patient safety
Performs point-of-care blood glucose testing as directed by the RN and per the physician's order
Ensures thorough and accurate documentation of all care activities in the medical record to support quality patient outcomes and regulatory compliance
Maintains a sterile and organized work environment by cleaning and disinfecting reusable equipment in pre-op and post-op bays according to established policies and manufacturer guidelines
