Transform Lives Through Communication in the Charming Landscape of North Texas - Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

What if your next career adventure became a journey of vocal empowerment - quite literally? As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of North Texas's flourishing communities, you will engage with individuals in a way that goes beyond merely addressing communication and swallowing disorders. You will be a key player in unlocking potential, boosting self-esteem, and nurturing connections throughout various life stages - from children uttering their first sounds to seniors reclaiming their voices and independence.

This position offers a rare chance to touch the lives of a broad demographic across the lifespan-from young children to older adults-within a setting that harmonizes outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient tasks. If your passion ignites at the thought of pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, this welcoming environment will offer you both a rewarding experience and the flexibility you crave.

  • Conduct evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized testing and observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans tailored to address urgent needs while considering long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions geared toward enhancing communication abilities, language skills, fluency, voice dynamics, and swallowing functions.
  • Engage with an interdisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, caregivers, and family members to establish cohesive strategies for care.
  • Guide and educate patients and their families to advocate for progress outside formal therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure seamless care during their treatment journey.
  • Keep accurate, timely clinical documentation that aligns with state, federal, and facility standards.
  • Remain informed about the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and colleague interaction.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • State-issued license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) granted by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based practice across all age groups, with a keen understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing conditions.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities when interacting with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teammates.
  • Adept at tailoring therapeutic techniques to cater to a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Solid clinical reasoning and analytical proficiency.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation guidelines.
  • Benefits

  • Compensation that reflects experience and dedication.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to promote work-life harmony while managing diverse patient cases.
  • Opportunities to specialize in areas like pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation.
  • Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth initiatives.
  • A collaborative workplace that champions top-notch care and continuous learning.
  • A Journey That Moves With You

Your role here will stretch far beyond just delivering speech therapy; you will join a community devoted to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating profound moments of connection through the simplest of human experiences : being heard and understood.

Your fellow clinicians will treat you like family, thriving in a culture of collaboration and trust. Every patient story matters; we will rely on you to help narrate it.
