About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Experience : Minimum 2 years of current experience in Labor and Delivery

License : Must possess a valid nursing license

Certifications : ACLS, AWHONN, BLS, NIHSS, NRP

Must-Have : 2 years of current experience in Labor and Delivery

Description :

This position includes bi-weekly orientation.

On-call requirement : 36 hours every 6 weeks.

Weekend requirements : Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month.

Travelers requesting time off during any holiday or holiday week will not be accommodated.

This policy applies to major holidays including Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Travelers may address any holiday time off directly with the manager after arriving onsite for their assignment by using the appropriate form.

In the Labor and Delivery unit, the nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 2.

Travelers can float to the Mother / Baby unit based on staffing needs.

Charting system experience with Cerner is preferred but not required.

All certifications and licensure must be valid and not expire within 45 days of the start date.

Candidates should begin renewing credentials if within that time period.

Floating is done in accordance with established policies, considering the clinical experiences of the worker being asked to float.

Policies comply with current standards of The Joint Commission, including provisions for appropriate orientation to the new unit.

Modules are completed during orientation and annually; hours vary based on the department.
