If you want to have a hands-on and highly impactful role, we want you to join our team as a Senior ERP Developer . This is a full-time position based in our office in Woodridge, IL located just outside of Chicago.
Primary Function :
The Senior ERP Developer will be responsible for the analysis, development and user support for Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP). The role will work with all levels of management and process owners (Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Production, Graphics, Marketing, Quality) to manage both strategic and operational aspects of Business Central with a focus on system configuration, standardization, development, data integration, data quality and technical issue resolution.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead solution design, analysis, development, configuration and testing for enhancements, optimizations, automations and new functionality as it relates to Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP) and other Microsoft ecosystem integrated applications (Dynamics 365 CRM, Azure, Power BI, Power Automate).
- Detail the necessary configuration of D365 BC solutions, leveraging platform capabilities to address unique business needs while minimizing reliance on custom code.
- Manage the configuration and setup of third-party ERP-related solutions – Insight Works (Dynamic Ship, WMS, Shop Floor, Order Fulfilment), Avalara, VersaPay.
- Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and document all solution architecture design work.
- Support the Functional leads and Applications & Integrations Lead in maintaining the integrations between BC and CRM, BC and Graphics ERP (LIFT) and BC and E-Comm.
- Ensure seamless integration, best-in-class performance, and efficient data flow across systems.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance system functionality and user experience.
- Assist the business with validating results through testing including integration and user acceptance testing.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date technical, functional and process documentation.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving level 2 support (sometimes level 1) in a timely manner via IT help-desk system.
- Work with end users to provide best practices and tips on BC usage including training, when required.
- Develop current state and future state process maps for development projects with time studies for efficiency savings.
- Guide ERP Admin / Programmer with regular test and production BC & ISV environment refreshes and other data refresh activities.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, developer tools, trends, and best practices in D365 BC and related domains, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and innovation.
- Maintain and adhere to change management process with visibility to IT team and ERP stakeholders / cross-functional leads.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology or a related field.5+ years’ experience as a developer for Microsoft Business Central v.24.0 or higher.MB-820 Business Central Developer Certification.MB-800 Business Central Functional Consultant Certification, a plus.Demonstrated experience with database query language (eg. MS SQL), and reporting / automation tools (Power BI, Power Automate).Demonstrated full-life cycle Business Central implementation experience, a plus.Physical Requirements of the Job
