HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Maintenance Team as Manager, Maintenance Department II.

Summary

As a key member of the plant leadership team, the Mgr, Maintenance Department II is responsible for the improvement and performance of equipment assets (stationary and mobile), controlling maintenance labor and material costs to achieve plant performance goals and the optimization of maintenance excellence strategies including Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM). This position is accountable for leading, motivating and developing HarbisonWalker International maintenance department employees and directing / coordinating maintenance capital expenditure project contractors to minimize waste and create standards to achieve quality and production results.

Responsibilities

• Optimizing the availability and safe, cost-effective operation of equipment assets through Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) to meet the cyclical demands of discrete manufacturing
• Coordinating maintenance and project requirements with production and engineering department(s); responsible for direct supervision of salaried and hourly workforce; developing and adhering to site processes, standards and policies; providing leadership for the development of individual talent for succession planning
• Serving as the Maintenance Excellence Champion, responsible for maintenance excellence activities and leading implementations of equipment and process improvements (Six Sigma / Lean); implementing the technical support and training for the maintenance excellence activities
• Driving improvements and maintaining a cost-effective approach toward asset management to minimize waste without loss of labor / asset performance and quality
• Developing and tracking maintenance departmental key performance indicators (KPIs); managing KPI improvement initiatives; fosters an environment of continuous improvement
• Optimizing costs through effective budget planning and management; supporting the effort to identify opportunities and capital requirements; partnering with regional engineers on plant capital expenditure projects administration and execution
• Enhancing and implementing a proactive approach to the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) process including spare parts acquisition, management, inventory and predictive maintenance tools
