Dean of Students
The Dean of Students will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for students. The Dean of Students will oversee student affairs, discipline, and welfare programs, ensuring the overall well-being and success of the student body. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for education, and a commitment to fostering positive relationships among students, teachers, and parents.

Full-Time Salary Range : MCBOE Salary Schedule
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree and at least three years of successful teaching or administrative experience in a K-12 setting
- Current teacher and / or administrator certification by the Alabama State Department of Education by the start date
- Fingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start date
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Develop and implement programs to support students' academic, social, and emotional well-beingProvide guidance and counseling to students on academic and personal matters, including career developmentCollaborate with teachers, parents, and external resources to address individual student needs and challengesMonitor and evaluate student progress, intervening when necessary to ensure student successEstablish and enforce a fair and consistent disciplinary code that aligns with school policies and regulationsInvestigate and address disciplinary incidents, ensuring due process and maintaining accurate recordsImplement proactive strategies to prevent disruptive behavior and foster a positive school cultureTrain staff on effective behavior management techniques and provide ongoing supportMonitor student attendance records, identifying patterns of absenteeism and implementing appropriate interventionsCollaborate with teachers, parents, and community agencies to support students with unique circumstances or challengesCoordinate resources and services for students with special needs, ensuring compliance with legal requirementsRespond promptly to student emergencies, including medical situations or crisis interventionFoster a positive and inclusive school climate that values diversity, equity, and respectCollaborate with stakeholders to develop initiatives that promote student engagement and positive relationshipsOrganize and lead activities that encourage student involvement, such as clubs, assemblies, and extracurricular eventsCommunicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress, behavior, and school initiativesStay current with educational trends, research, and best practices related to student support and behavior managementPerforms other duties as assigned by the PrincipalRequired Skills and Competencies :
