Description :

The RN Clinical Nurse Emergency Department is an essential member of an interdisciplinary team of caregivers.

They ensure that patients and families receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care.

They practice in a clinical environment led by Nurse Managers and supported by evidence-based practice and research.

RN competencies are aligned with professional standards and supported by core values.

All Clinical Nurses must be licensed and knowledgeable in line with the Professional Nurse Practice Act.

They will uphold system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

Performs the Nursing Process for clinical care, ensuring individualized care.

Provides patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.

Partners with patients and significant others to develop care plans.

Practices adhering to current clinical standards.

Teamwork and Collaboration :

Coordinates safe quality patient care through effective communication methods.

Demonstrates teamwork by being fiscally responsible and promoting retention of healthcare team members.

Participates in performance improvement activities to promote safe, quality patient care.

Professional Development and Initiative :

Completes all required competency assessments and ongoing education.

Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research :

Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.

Upholds all organizational policies and procedures and clinical competencies.

Participates in data collection to address practice questions.

Resources and Support :

Plans for the care of patients throughout the care continuum.

Participates in developing protocols in collaboration with care managers.

Supports efficient use of human and material resources.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all organizational policies and code of conduct.
