About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Hours per Shift : 12.5 hours (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM)
Experience : Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience in NICU at a Level 3 or higher facility.
License : Current RN License in good standing
Certifications : BLS, NRP
Must-Have : Experience with trauma and EPIC
Description :
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
The RN provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy.
Responsibilities include performing all duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service.
The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided is essential to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
The RN completes an initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs.
The plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures are implemented by the RN.
The RN modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
Taking responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and / or correcting safety hazards and incidents is a key duty.
The RN communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
Offering constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers is encouraged.
The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base.
Identifying own learning needs and taking initiative to begin appropriate solutions is essential.
Fulfilling all requirements of departmental competencies is expected.
Department specific functions for this role include monitoring intake and output of the neonatal patient assignment.
The RN assists mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care.
Medications are administered using proper bar code scanning.
Reporting on patient assignments during multidisciplinary rounds is required.
