Nurse Practitioner - New JCHC Clinic Ottumwa

POSITION OVERVIEW :

JCHC is excited to announce the opening of our new Family Medicine Clinic in Ottumwa, which is scheduled to open early 2026. This Nurse Practitioner role will be part of our brand-new location, offering an opportunity to help establish and grow our services in the community.

Under the general guidance of the Administration and in accordance with the Iowa State Board of Nursing the nurse practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with diseases and health conditions following the appropriate medical practice guidelines. Provides medical care to patients of varying types and acuity and is responsible for the continuous and comprehensive management of a broad range of health services. Utilizes the knowledge and skill acquired through specialized training, to promote health, prevent disease, and assess patient health care management. Patient care is to be delivered in collaboration with and / or under the supervision of the physician. Performs assigned procedures and duties within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Licensed to practice in the state of Iowa.
• Must be registered under both state and federal Controlled Substances Acts.
• Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner within a family practice clinic is preferred for caring for both acute and chronic health conditions.

ACCOUNTABILITY :

Reports to Director of Clinics, Chief Operating Officer, or Chief Executive Officer
