Position Overview
The Henderson Police Department announces the opening of applications for the position of Corrections Officer. Processing and testing of applicants will occur throughout the year on an ongoing basis.
The department is seeking dedicated people of character, courage, conscience, and compassion who are interested in a challenging and rewarding career of service to the citizens and community of Henderson.
The pool of candidates from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies for the classification of Corrections Officer for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs security work overseeing and directing the activities of inmates within the Detention Center and during transport to other facilities, and performs related duties as required.

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION :
Step 1 : Submit Your Application - Apply by December 31st, 2025, to join us for the May 2026 academy!
Step 2 : Written Exam - Must be completed within 10 calendar days of receiving invitation to test.
Step 3 : Physical Fitness Test - Candidates invited to the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will receive an email notice when it is their time to schedule. PFT dates open two weeks in advance, and scheduling links are sent out to candidates who have passed the written exam (see dates below).

Step 6 : Command Staff Interview - Candidates who successfully complete backgrounds will be invited for a final interview with HPD Command Staff

Step 8 : Employment Offer & Academy -Henderson Police Academy hours are 6am-4pm, Monday - Thursday for approximately 24 weeks
