Staff Accountant - Full-Time, On-Site

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance and plays a key role in supporting all hotel accounting functions, including accounts payable, general cashiering, income audit, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities :

• Perform accounts payable functions, including processing invoices and reconciling vendor statements.
• Manage general cashier duties : issue, audit, and maintain hotel banks, prepare bank deposits, due backs, and petty cash, and resolve cash discrepancies.
• Ensure house banks are properly documented, approved, and maintained.
• Support income audit, payroll functions, and assist with inventory spot checks.
• Contribute to monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews of significant account balances.
• Assist in preparation of period-end closing procedures and reports.
• Prepare quarterly external reporting schedules and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through documentation and control testing.
• Handle inquiries from guests, clients, vendors, and external auditors.
• Collaborate on special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
