ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) certification required within 12 months of hire date
Paramedic training program completion accepted within 12 months of hire date
Job Details
Entry-level position working under supervision to deliver specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology services to adult and / or pediatric patients.
Provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care in various care settings including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic / urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician orders.
Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical outcomes and operational goals.
Utilizes specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic equipment and techniques for diagnostic, interventional, and / or surgical procedures.
Conducts post-procedure reviews to ensure completion, documentation, and technical quality per protocols and accreditation standards.
Transfers images and data to archival systems, enters technical data / findings, and prepares studies for physician reporting.
Performs operator-level quality control, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and improve care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and reliably report to work as scheduled.
Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment.
Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
Understanding of operations, policies, and procedures.
Professional, polite, courteous, compassionate, and cooperative communication with staff, patients, and families.
High level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and attention to detail.
Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; cardiovascular and / or radiologic technologies and terminology associated with the specialty.
Ability to apply core-level primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation with general supervision or assistance.
Associate’s degree or higher required.
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program in cardiovascular specialty or JRCERT accredited program in radiologic technology or completion of Paramedic training program.
Schedule Information
Contract length is 13 weeks.
