Job description

Locums OB / GYN Hospitalist 24-Hr Shifts Des Moines, IA (IMLC accepted) Why This Role?

  • Full-time hospitalist need at a leading regional center
  • 24-hour shifts with consistent monthly scheduling
  • Handles all OBED patients, emergencies, and maternity transport

Duration : Starts January 1, 2026 - Ongoing Coverage Type : Inpatient Only (24-hour shifts) Schedule : 6.5 shifts per month, 7a to 7a, including weekends and holidays Clinical Details :

  • OBED with 8 beds
  • Approx. 1,389 OBED visits per year; 463 result in deliveries
  • Manages emergent OB cases and patients without a primary OB
  • No supervision of APPs
  • Onsite imaging, lab, and pharmacy
  • EMR : Epic

    • Requirements :

  • Board certified or eligible in OB / GYN
  • Active IA license or IMLC
  • Clean history

    • Skills Needed :

  • OBED coverage
  • Emergent deliveries (vaginal and C-section)
  • Full-scope inpatient OB / GYN

    • Compensation

  • Rates : Facility is accepting bids
  • Malpractice : Provided
