Job description

Responsibilities :

  • The Mechanical Integrity Engineer will develop, implement, and oversee the plant's mechanical integrity program, ensuring all equipment is maintained per industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., API, OSHA PSM).
  • Establish inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance (ITPM) schedules for pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, heat exchangers, relief devices, and rotating equipment.
  • Coordinate and conduct periodic inspections and testing of plant equipment based on risk-based inspection (RBI) principles.
  • Review and analyze inspection data, using engineering judgment and analytical tools to assess equipment condition and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspection findings, test results, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, including API, ASME, OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), and relevant environmental regulations.
  • Lead or participate in root cause failure analyses (RCFAs) and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability, working with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize equipment design and selection.

Qualifications :

  • The Mechanical Integrity Engineer will have a BSME (or BSChemE) and 5+ years of experience in mechanical integrity, reliability engineering, or maintenance engineering in a chemical, petrochemical, or refinery setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical integrity principles, including RBI, NDT techniques, and fitness-for-service (FFS) evaluations.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
  • Solid understanding of equipment criticality evaluation, equipment strategies and maintenance practices and possess thorough knowledge of capital project process.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
