- Knowledge of aseptic technique
- Familiarity with equipment documentation
Description :
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
The role requires expertise in using various chemical agents for decontamination.
Candidates should be skilled in operating cleaning equipment such as crash carts and IV pumps.
Disinfection and high-level disinfection practices are critical for this position.
Manual cleaning and proper labeling of instruments are essential functions.
Candidates must know sterilization wrapping procedures and proper selection of wrapping materials.
Experience with endoscope reprocessing, including bronchoscopes and colonoscopes, is required.
Candidates should be familiar with equipment testing and monitoring for sterilization processes.
This position does not require on-call duties.
Weekend work is required for 8 hours once every six weekends.
The ideal candidate will have experience with sets and trays assembly and understand biological and chemical indicators.
Knowledge of steam sterilization testing and monitoring is also necessary.
The Sterile Processing Tech will play a crucial role in maintaining patient safety and equipment readiness.
