American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position specializing in oncology care and requiring an OH or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Med / Surg Tele unit with an adult and geriatric oncology patient populationPatients include those diagnosed with cancers such as endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancersDuties include chemotherapy administration, participation in clinical trials, brachytherapy, and neobladder careTelemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation are requiredTypical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 but may adjust to 1 : 5 based on needsRotating 12-hour day / night shifts; assignments may include days, nights, or a combinationFirst week orientation is Monday to Friday on dayshift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit precepted orientationSelf-scheduling possible with no set or blocked schedulesVariable weekend requirements according to unit needsUses EPIC EMR systemResponsibilities include direct care, chemotherapy administration, participation in clinical trials, and specialized proceduresStrong infection prevention and patient falls management protocols in placeCollaboration with an interdisciplinary team and rapid response teams as neededFirst week consists of structured orientation and preceptorshipLocals are accepted at the same rateFormer employees eligible only after a 6-month break; current employees are ineligible as travelers at Ohio State University hospital locationsAll time off requests must be included with initial consideration\n \n Requirements\n
Active OH or compact RN license in handMinimum 2 years of Med Surg / Tele nursing experienceCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationExperience with chemotherapy administration and telemetry requiredAbility to interpret dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventionsExperience with central line maintenance and feeding tube managementPreferred : Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certificationEducation must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited programAt least 2 professional references required, with one from a supervisor or managerFingerprinting process must be completed promptly after contract signing\n Benefits\n
