Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher position is available at a school in Arcata, CA, focusing on providing specialized instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Deliver specialized instruction in alignment with state standards and students' IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors.
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student development and address concerns.
  • Maintain classroom management that promotes a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications :

  • Valid California Special Education teaching credential.
  • Experience working with students requiring mild to moderate support in an SDC or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles.
