Job Description : Input, process, and maintain Distribution Lines and Equipment assets in an ESRI GIS database.

Responsibilities

• Collect, input, and maintain accurate geospatial data for electric distribution infrastructure, including poles, transformers, conductors, switches, and meters, within an ESRI-based GIS system.
• Produce and update detailed maps and schematics of the electrical grid to support engineering, operations, and field crews, ensuring maps reflect current field conditions and planned changes.
• Perform regular audits and validations of GIS data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with field personnel to incorporate GPS and mobile data collection into the GIS database, reconciling discrepancies between field observations and existing GIS records.
• Provide GIS analysis and mapping support for planning, outage management, asset tracking, and system reliability studies. Assist in modeling and visualizing network changes or expansions.

Work Environment

Flexible to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in an office environment in Birmingham, Alabama. Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours per day, starting as early as 7 am and ending as late as 5 pm. The role offers the flexibility to work remotely with a stable broadband internet connection capable of supporting remote desktop connections over VPN. After completing a training period of approximately three months in Birmingham, work may become mostly remote with occasional in-office work, meetings, and training. No per diem is available for onsite training, meetings, and work, and candidates must live within commuting distance to the office in Birmingham, AL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 / hr.
