Description :

The position involves providing nursing care for oncology patients and managing general medical-surgical overflow.

The nurse will be part of a team that ensures high-quality patient care.

The nurse will have a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 : 5 for general patients and 1 : 4 for telemetry patients.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Holidays will be rotated among the staff, with the expectation of working during major holidays.

Nurses will work in shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM.

Bedside report will be conducted.

Self-scheduling is utilized, with schedules released four weeks in advance.

Flexible staffing options, including extra shifts, are available.

Floating to other facilities may occur but is rare.

The role includes interaction with Hospitalists or Intensivists who are present.

Support services, including pharmacy and respiratory therapy, are available 24 / 7.

The nurse may work alongside nurse aides, depending on staffing levels.

The position requires completion of a basic dysphagia exam prior to acceptance.

Onboarding includes one to two days of orientation with a preceptor on the floor.

The ideal candidate will have experience and be skilled in managing patients with complex needs.
