We are seeking a Legal Counsel, Litigation to join our legal team. This individual will support litigation matters across Regent and its portfolio companies, reporting directly into the VP, Head of Litigation. The role will focus on managing active disputes, coordinating with outside counsel, and assisting with litigation strategy and risk assessment. This is an in-office position, based in Beverly Hills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of active litigation and dispute matters involving Regent and its portfolio companies, including commercial, regulatory, employment, IP, and class action disputes.
- Partner with the VP, Head of Litigation to develop case strategies and ensure consistent legal approaches across the portfolio.
- Liaise with outside counsel on litigation matters, supporting the selection, engagement, and ongoing management of external legal partners.
- Monitor case budgets, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure alignment with Regent’s objectives.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support pre-litigation strategy and dispute resolution efforts.
- Assist with internal investigations and responses to demand letters or regulatory inquiries.
- Support responses to subpoenas, regulatory exams, and investigations in coordination with external counsel.
- Help prepare required reporting and documentation for regulatory matters.
- Work with internal teams and external advisors on litigation-related insurance issues, including claims and coverage.
- Partner with portfolio company leadership, finance, HR, and compliance teams on litigation-related issues.
- Assist with developing internal processes to enhance litigation readiness and mitigate risk.
- Maintain litigation tracking systems, case files, and reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Provide updates to senior leaders on key matters.
Requirements
JD from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the California or New York State Bar4–7 years of litigation experience at a law firm and / or in-house legal departmentStrong foundation in managing complex litigation and disputes across multiple jurisdictionsFamiliarity with corporate governance, employment law, and regulatory frameworks preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and project management abilitiesBusiness-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentA reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $225,000 to $275,000 per year.
