Project Manager - Infrastructure Construction
About the Opportunity
A well-established general contractor in the Southeast is seeking a Project Manager to oversee complex infrastructure construction projects. This role involves managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and client relationships across multiple job sites, with a strong emphasis on self-perform capabilities in concrete, piping, and electrical systems.
You'll join a company that builds essential systems and facilities - not retail, not high-rise - and plays a major role in shaping the physical backbone of the region.
Location : Open to candidates located or willing to relocate within the Raleigh-Charlotte corridor, NC
Industry : Self-performing general contractor (heavy civil infrastructure)
What You'll Do
- Oversee full-cycle project execution from bidding to closeout
- Develop construction plans and lead field operations
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and equipment
- Track budgets, timelines, and job cost performance
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, engineers, inspectors)
- Drive on-time, under-budget delivery through detailed planning and oversight
- Monitor field safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
What We're Looking For
Project management experience in self-perform infrastructure or utility constructionComfortable with heavy civil scopes : concrete, process piping, mechanical / electrical integrationStrong communication and leadership skills in fast-paced jobsite environmentsAbility to manage multiple active sites in the NC regionBackground in working for a general contractor preferredBachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field is a plusThe Package
