Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Overview

Join Shearer's Foods as an Environment, Health and Safety Manager. This senior role leads a comprehensive safety and wellness process using a proactive approach, creating a safety culture where associate safety and well?being is the #1 priority. The manager engages with associates daily, promotes safety messaging, delivers training, and drives compliance across the plant.

Reporting Structure

The manager reports to the Plant Site Director and the Director of Safety.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead a caring safety culture focused on people.
• Maintain a safe working environment every shift, every day.
• Meet or exceed established corporate safety goals aligned with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local safety requirements and handle audits or OSHA visits.
• Develop and deliver training, messaging and reward programs that recognize safe behaviors throughout the facility.
• Drive strong accountability and model safe behaviors with leaders.
• Correct unsafe acts and conditions with the workplace and fix associated issues.
• Collaborate with Site Director, HR and Workers Compensation / Leave Experts on injury, leave and accommodation decisions.
• Communicate proactively and bring urgency to issues and concerns.
• Stay apprised on trends and best practices across the network and marketplace.
• Maintain accurate compliance records, training, postings, procedures and reporting; extract data insights and plan corrective actions.
• Build high?performing teams, develop and retain top talent.
• Provide leadership to maintain a practical safety budget with business and financial responsibility.
• Coach and lead others with a servant leadership style.
