Position Overview
Primarily responsible is assisting in the installation or repair of several systems or components of the race car, such as brakes, drivetrain, suspension, steering, or cooling system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including driveline, steering systems, brake and fuel systems, suspension, and other potentially troublesome areas
- Assist with NASCAR inspection process
- Complete suspension, brakes, drive train and setup changes as needed
Includes, but not limited to, brake rotors and pads, drop gears, differential pressure, shock adjustments, spring rounds, and front and rear bar blades
Install the engine, gear, and transmissionAssist in examination of all key parts and components to determine extent of damage or malfunctions including belts, hoses, steering systems, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areasAssist with repair, replacement, and brake adjustmentsAssist with repair or replacement of such as gauges, gears, blowers, and bearingsSafety-check and verify mechanical integrity of vehicle by thorough inspection of sub-assemblies including driveline, steering, brakes, fuel containment, vehicle interior and suspension. Reference and complete checklists as assigned by manager.Assist team with driveline component changes including engine, driveshaft, transaxle, and half-shafts.Disassemble of units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gaugesDiagnose and repair mechanical failures at track through inspection and service.Document component and setup changes made in preparation for and throughout race events.Aid team with over-the-wall crash repair during race events.Maintain organization and cleanliness of work areaOther duties as assigned by ManagerRequired Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies :
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required2+ years of auto mechanic experience requiredStrong mechanical knowledge requiredValid driver’s license requiredThorough understanding of mechanical components and car systemsKnowledge of dial calipers, and basic measuring toolsFamiliar with body and chassis repairWelding ability is preferredBasic computer skills preferredAbility to work a flexible scheduleAbility to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced stressful environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsSkills to work independently, and operate well under pressure to meet tight deadlinesAbility to identify and propose solutions to complex issuesAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust be willing to travel
