Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrol Lead in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a positive environment for all residents and staff. Your visible presence and proactive approach will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, while your strong communication and customer service skills will be essential in daily interactions. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter location and its perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions as required by the site.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activity through visible presence and attentive patrols.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents to Allied Universal management and / or site leadership as required.
  • Support site operations by maintaining awareness of the surroundings and being prepared to respond to any emergencies or incidents.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
