AssistantAssociate Professor of Instruction, Nursing

The University of Akron one of Ohios leading public institutions of higher learning is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in the new Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Program. This is a full-time 9-month non-tenure track position. The program is conducted in-person at The University of Akron Wayne College Campus in Orrville Ohio. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teaching in the associate of applied science in nursing program including didactic lab and clinical courses. The focus of the position will be Medical-Surgical Nursing Health Assessment and Pharmacology. The individual in this position is not responsible for completing research.
• Evaluating student performance.
• Assist in managing clinical placements including expanding clinical sites.
• Serve on program school college and university-wide committees as assigned.
• Maintain a program of personal professional growth through activities such as engaging in scholarly activity university and community service and other pursuits commensurate with faculty rank and status.
• Supporting University College and School of Nursing goals to assure compliance with accreditation and / or licensure.
